Blog Week 2 Translate and Extensions

Translate in Google Sheets: Although I am a beginner with Excel this idea seems brilliant. I have found myself looking up words in different languages, mostly Spanish, but this spreadsheet would save a lot of time. Someone could find different translations of a word in many languages at once which could help a student learn English or a teacher instructing students who do not speak English.
Control Alt Achieve: The many extensions on Chrome for struggling students and students with special needs is new to me. My girlfriend's daughter has a form of Dyslexia which causes her to struggle in school. The school has her in a special program at school which helps her succeed but I will show her these extensions on Google and hopefully, this can help her further. My girlfriend’s daughter is often frustrated with reading and maybe this will help with her frustration. It does not help to have someone read to her and it is discouraging for her to struggle through a sentence so this may be an answer that helps her maintain her independence with reading.
The BeeLine Reader is an idea that I like. This extension changes the color of the text which guides your eyes smoothly from one line to the next. I recently went to the Eye Doctor and he prescribed glasses for when I read. I really do not want to wear the glasses because my eyes are just slightly off, for now, and I do not want to rely on the glasses for reading. Reading with the BeeLine Reader makes reading a passage easier and helps a person read faster because it is easier to stay focused on what is being read.
There are so many great extensions and it is awesome to be introduced to new technology for teaching.  It is unbelievable how fast technology is moving and it will be interesting to see future technology to come. I just hope that future technology does not eliminate the need for teachers!
